Fireside Chat: The Global Race to Decarbonization | 2026 Global Decarbonization Forum

At the Global Decarbonization Forum 2026, Dr. Robert Habeck shares his perspective on the forces reshaping the global energy landscape and what they mean for European industry, decarbonization policy, and the businesses trying to navigate both at once.
The geopolitical shocks keep coming. And every time they do, the case for energy independence gets stronger. From the war in Ukraine to the current crisis in Iran, the world is learning the hard way that relying on global fossil energy markets is not a strategy. The transition is not accelerating because of climate ambition alone, it is accelerating because the alternative has become too costly to ignore.
From India's acceptance of CBAM in its EU free trade agreement to why renewables are booming even in markets where the political narrative says otherwise, Dr. Habeck traces the forces that are quietly making the old arguments against the transition obsolete and outlines what Europe needs to do to come out of this moment on the right side.
Watch now to hear one of Europe's most influential voices on energy and climate make the case for what comes next.
